EA has finally confirmed that Battlefield 3 is in development, after years of rumors and speculations. Although it didn’t come in the form of an “announcement”, but rather during a meeting with investors.
During the William Blair Growth Stock Conference, EA COO John Pleasants revealed that he saw the game at DICE, saying “I’ve had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at DICE in Sweden and was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product.
Pleasants also revealed that the game would not ship “this fiscal year”, which means the earliest release date would be Summer 2010. Battlefield 2 was released in Summer 2005.

I'm pleased to make 2 announcements today, firstly our web based server and ban administration section is online.
You can access this in the quicklinks under "server admin" - once logged in you should be able to kick/ban/change maps and edit all of the servers.
Secondly, our 4th server is coming online. The IP is listed in the main servers section - once it's built (next day or so) I'll let you know, but the IP and admin is up.
See you on the server and don't you noob dare try to kick or ban me :P

The =SM= clan is looking to enter some L4D leagues provided by ESL. If you are a clan member and are interested in signing up please see more info in the members only section of the forums.
Don't forget you'll need to create an account on ESL first and we need at the very least 5 members (4 plus reserve)

A lot of the old BF2 clan have started playing valve's new zombie shooter 'Left 4 dead'
So I've stuck a new area in the forums to cover people playing left 4 dead, both to organise, troubleshoot and arrange games :-)
And don't forget we've got an 8 player vs (or co-op campaign) server running on 85.236.100.37:27215 - if you need admin on this server, let me know :))
I'm also looking into developing some L4D maps in hammer - if anyone wants to team up with me on this then let me know!

After the recent increases in number of cheats, the diminishing good players (drawn off to other more modern games), a total lack of support from EA and finally getting tired of bf2... we have decided to go dormant.
Basically we'll be closing down the servers in a few months and waiting patiently for a new FPS game to come along... then we'll be back :-)
And before you suggest it cod4 is not a replacement for BF2 :P
Finally a big THANKS to all the regular players and clan members who've been active and played with us. I hope that when we come back online again you'll keep a look out for our return.
