About the Sneaky Monkeys..
The =SM= clan was formed from members who've been playing multiplayer games dating back to the 90's. Including old members of Unreal Tournament clans such as SiN and SWF.
Later, after clans such as TKF and SAF disbanded, some members joined us as we moved from Joint Ops to playing Battlefield 2 - our game of choice for several years.
We operated BF2 servers consistently ranked in the UK top 20, before eventually the constant namehacking and cheating of BF2 saw us close our servers and move to left4dead. 2010 marked a return of the clan to it's battlefield roots - however BC2 didn't offer the levels of teamwork and sustainability we wanted. As such we've now moved over to Battlefield 3 as our primary game
The clan was created to provide as much of a cheat free environment as possible - we became fed up playing on servers that lied about their anti-cheat measures (usually because this area is notoriously difficult to maintain) or conversely accused people of cheating without any proof, so the servers were set up with the aim of being as secure as possible while also providing a laid back fun gaming environment.
Although we care more about gaming, socialising and fun; some players have performed well in league matches including ESL/clanforge and the I-Series over the years and the clan is currently sposored by Sennheiser gaming UK (see the Sennheiser featured clans page)
We typically recruit people over 16 years old, although do make exceptions. We do not tolerate racism.
The clan structure is one that is fairly unique in gaming....Rather than a leading council making decisions, instead major decisions are made by 'majority rules' member voting, where all members are equal and majority votes win (The clan leader; see below, casting a deciding vote in a tie) - not only has the been the fairest option it also seems to have helped against a lot of the bickering typically associated with clans and decision making.

We offer recruitment by invitation - if you are interested in joining, please let us know (in the recruitment section of the forums) so that we can keep an eye out for you.
We'll not enter into recruitment with strangers - we don't want people who apply just for the clan tag and then never play or hang out, so after making a post about yourself, come play with us or join teamspeak and get to know us. After that we can offer trial membership with full admin powers. We care about personality than pure kill/death ratio.
We don't allow cheaters or people who have previously been caught cheating in other games to join the clan, prospective members are checked out for prior bans through various streaming databases and other sources. Members have access to the pbbans databases and Evenbalance master lists.
Even if the clan isn't something you want to be part of, please feel free to drop by the server, teamspeak or the forums :-)

Do you allow cheats on your server?
NO!
People who cheat are not allowed on. This includes actual software hacks and glitching. Such players will be politely kicked/banned. If you think someone is cheating please contact an admin either in game or via the webiste (forums etc.,). Mailing monkeyfiend@gmail.com will produce and instant alert on my phone and allow me to check it out.
What about stat padders or people that have padded in the past?
We currently do not accept as members people who have previously stats-padded
Further though, we routinely check a cross-section of players stats on the server (especially high rank players) - if you have overly suspicious stats or have had your stats wiped in the past you will be removed from the server pending further investigation.
We do not allow people that have cheated in the past to play on our server.
Do we have to pay subscriptions? Reserved slots?
Currently do not ask for new members to pay server subscriptions, however the game server, comms server and website do cost money to run; therefore we ask that members do create a subscription (see main page) of around £2 per month if they can or discuss their options with MonkeyFiend. Long-term members who don't contribute to the upkeep of the clan may temporarily lose some admin powers.
We're currently looking at changing this system so that non contributing members can still have admin powers while contributing members have additional power.
We do greatly appreciate any donations made to us - every little help. Donations can be made through paypal on the front page.
We do not operate reserved slots as these don't work well e.g. if we have 25 clan members and add these to reserved slots, this will mean if no clan are on only 7 public players can join a server :P
We do however kick to make room for admins.. apologies in advance if you get kicked :) We generally try to kick either the last person on or the one with the lowest score
I wish to appeal a ban?
If you wish to appeal a ban, please make a post in the forums with the details. Appeals against typical bans are adjudicated by the clan, where specific complaint is made against clan members, appeals may be arbitrated by an independant third party.
If the ban is issued from pbbans, psb or evenbalance, we cannot lift these bans. You should contact the relevant cheat organisation directly.

Your server has custom security not found elsewhere to catch hackers, will you share it?
The server has been heavily customized with a lot of non-standard anti-cheat checks to try and prevent as many nooby little hacking swines getting on.
Along the way, we've also added some customization to other parts of the server.
This shouldn't affect the game but should make the server a a bit more unique and recognisable and provides an incentive for players to return.
This only works as long as long as these features are unique. As such we regret we'll not hand over the code to other (even friendly) clans.
I would also warn clan attempting to do this that adjustment of py files can often result in the server crashing or disconnecting players and may require a reinstall from your GSP.

Do you take PB screenshots on BF3?
Yes, our BF3 servers take PB screenshots automatically for all players at random intervals. We keep the last 3000 screenshots.
The screenshots are a slightly larger size and sample rate than standard allowing for clearer detail, however please note that the current sucess rate of BF3 screenshots is very low.
Player screenshots are available to all clan members at all times. PB screenshots are also available to the public (on request in the forum) with the hash and IP info stripped.
Bad Language?
We do allow banter, but if things are taking a more serious tone then we may warn, kick or ban. People are here to play and have fun, not take abuse.
We do not allow racism, this always carries a ban (and a suggestion you should grow up.
