I have been a longtime lurker on Sneaky Monkeys, donated on occasion too. But due to over commitments to another gaming community have never bothered to socialize on the forums, I only ever voted. I know some of you know me, Some of you probably hate my feinting. However i thought i would say hello and ask a couple of questions regarding your servers as i recently discovered something i don't like very much and didn't believe was going on involving some of the SM admins on the chivalry server. Both friends and i frequently use your servers as they are nothing short of the best we find, However there seems to be an ever increasing number of random kicks being put down, Usually i wouldn't believe anyone when they told me that they were kicked from a round unfairly, That includes some of the other long time players, Which is both annoying when you have to wait to get a place back. But tonight i feel that i experienced this myself. While i will not name/shame anyone personally as its not something i found ever did any good. I have never had any problem with the server or admins in all the time i have played on there, Except Sneeky because he kicks me into rivers, At 19:40 10/10/2014 I was kicked for -annoying- behavior, With a claim that i was warned several times, Utterly shocked at this as i neither team kill/troll/block or do anything otherwise unacceptable i looked back through my Over wolf and found no such thing had occurred. After asking politely why i was kicked, I was given nothing short of a vague excuse and a reference to the SM house party rule. While we will always respect the server and its admin, I think that being clear to your players is only fair isnt it? Both in game and out?, You warn me about something, I will -always- listen, While i can appreciate a admin might be click happy when they are in a bad mood or feel someone has broken a rule (Two have admitted this to me themselves ^^). An explanation would be polite. I frequently role play in game for a laugh with friends and have never had anyone take issue with this, I have seen SM members take part time and time again for some comical fun. However on this occasion i was asked to tone it down and i did. Could someone please look back through the log and send me a message to explain why i was kicked? As far as i was aware a SM admin were not given the power to kick someone just because they personally found them -annoying- ... Or were they? If so, Ill have to rethink the way i play the game next time i kick Porsuk into a river.

Time for me to weigh in with my godlike opinions

From what I can see stormcow joined the server and was in full roleplay mode (which is consistent behaviour), then came the comments of burning, rape and, much like The production of Tesco clothing, Child enslavement. However I suppose they are in keeping with such a game - listen to the knight VO on dark forest when he demands that he be 'brought the queen and kill the rest'. Perhaps it's a reference to chess? I hope so. I like chess.

So then comes the 'don't take this too far' - Sooo was this about the rape comments or the excessive roleplay spam in general. If the rapey comments warranted a kick*, then it could have been done here. Still this appears to be a warning. If the 'don't take it too far' was aimed at the roleplaying in general. I'd argue anyone roleplaying, has probably taken things too far already and needs some sort of intervention. Maybe someone should take away their foam axes and have a quiet word over a nice cup of tea.

Now I may be reading this wrong, but it was only at the suggestion that penguin be made a tavern wench. This in itself is preposterous - penguins have flippers, can you imagine them serving drinks in a tavern? They'd spill drinks everywhere. They'd also be too short, unless you werelying on the floor trying to get drinks and that normally only happens later in my nights out. Although I concede some sort of strapped on drinks table contraption like they put on r2d2 in return of the jedi might work. Then again it didn't turn out so well for Jabba the hut.

So using my Sherlockholmesian powers of deduction the implications are that there was some flirting going on here and only when stormcow suggested the involvement of a third party (penguin) did the rage of hypothetic betrayal result in a kick from the server.

So in summary:

There were at least 3 warnings before a kick
Penguins do not make good waiters
Never suggest a threesome unless all parties are up for it

Is RP allowed? Yes - there's nothing saying it's not. Although there probably should be. Filthy roleplayers. Get a job and cut your lank greasy hair!
Are rape comments allowed? no rules against them afaik. Especially from context - it's not like the comment was aimed at someone in particular e.g. I'm going to creep out from under your bed tonight and push your poo. Plenty of raferences in game to gangrape that go unpunished.
Was it spammy? yeah quite a bit of text. No one really complained though (for serverwide disruption) and if that's the problem, can always mute or at least say he's being kicked for being a 'spammy mofo'
Were there warnings before the kick? Amongst the flirtatious subtext, yes 3 of them

So there were warnings and the was a kick. If the kick was due to comments regarding 'forced lovin'' then that could have happened earlier in the conov. If the kick was due to spammification then this could have been mentioned.

Afaict the kick was done legitimately after some warnings, however whether the kick should have been made for either rape comments or general spam I don't believe it breaks any particular rules.

The general convo from stormcow didn't seem to break any particular rules unless you're being overly strict on their interpretation.

Finally..

Meow, that was hilarious. You should post more often. Like, a lot more. And on a side note; read Sonne's reply to find out how I got to the decision to kick Storm.

After speaking to a few SM admins, And even looking back over the chat logs myself, I now have to admit some of the language used was a little ... Exercises? Crude? .. Ill put it down to too much happy juice and loss playing with friends, As much as it KAINS me to admit, I think Turbo DID do his job as as admin, All know me and know how I join games while at work and not, I had enough sympathetic messages from SM admins to know many sympathise with my moaning, given what others and more have been up to recently, Ill put it down to my lack of common sense in this case,( ON my behalf) but as expected, I maybe just didn't expect Turbo to take anything I say so seriously, But that is -my- problem, Ill apologise to TM in game for being so prickly and for bringing his integrity into question. Because as much as i would like to be in the right, I believe i was (On this occasion) In the wrong.

But i would like to remind all, As a donation and very frequent player of SM, That I expect a very fair chance and say in all that goes on! Like all other SM supporters. Because there is never else I would rather play while I'm travelling round the world, And if ANY of my own and others roleplay in game effects anybody, please tell us and give us the chance to right it

Only partly. My biggest concern perhaps was some 13-year old seeing what you were saying. It's tough, gets attention and soon he'll be doing it too, but without the roleplaying. Throw in another few youngsters and you've got yourself a verbal riot. Not your fault, I know, but it's easier to talk to grown ups than it is to pissed off youngsters.

If a similar situation ever arises, I'll give you a heads up through the steam chat. Should prevent escalation by taking the role-playing out of the equation
