Nightling just told me she lost all her achievements. I checked mine and lost all 30 of mine too. Worked my ass off getting the 1's I had and now I gotta redo them all?!?!?1 Wtf is with that????????/ Something to do with the official launch or something?

I think a similar thing happened in the first game, the stats were restored at a later date though to my understanding.

Its happening to a lot of people whenever they turn their pc off. Happened to some dude 5 times, lol.
It's the first time I turned my pc off in over a week so maybe thats the problem. -------------------- |

had similar happen and lost my nothing special and expert completion awards.. thankfully they reappeared.
Steam forums also have many people with the same issues

They've done some fixes...
November 21, 2009 - Left 4 Dead 2 Update Released Fixed performance problem when rendering lots of decals, notably when fighting tanks with shotguns Fixed rcon response not working on Linux dedicated servers Fixed matchmaking problem matching into Advanced and Expert games Fix bug that would cause other specials to try to pummel a player a Charger disconnects or reconnects Fixed versus mode results panel being cut off in transition stats screen in non-english Found games: fixed non-player entries drawing the wrong type of icon in the selected item name label Game mode selector on main menu now takes keyboard input Still no achievement fix... kinda reluctant to do them again if just gonna lose them again. -------------------- |

i NEVER turn off my comp, so I can say for sure that it didn't contribute to me losing mine. I've gained a few back, but the next time i load up steam, they were gone again...
