for some reason i have not been able to play on ANY random server

ive tried about 10 so far but the horribly slow server browser coupled with the fct i have to reload the game each attempt laborious to say the least

anyway i can connect to these servers but once ingame after about 5-15 secs i'm booted out the server via a PB init error straight back to desktop :/

yet i can happily play on the SM server :/

ive even tried other multiplay.co.uk servers yet same problem sad.gif

Disaster for this game online..Could not get connected until the game with you lot last night and then 350 ping and 15-20 fps even at lowest setings made it completely unplayable. Really been looking forward to it as well. But apparently this is a common issue at the moment.

@PB init failure... are you guys using vista/win7?

Can you try right clicking the icon (or add an icon to desktop if using steam) then I check the run as XP service pack 2 compatible under the compatibility tab.

@Hypo... as for game performance, what's your current computer spec? If using vista/win7 maybe try running it in a lower dirextX version (people have reported better performance in DX9) - to manually tinker with settings look in your "My Documents" folder for BFBC2 and edit the settings.ini file (make a backup first) - try setting everything to low and the dx version to 9

If you're using XP, please ignore that above tongue.gif

im in w7 x64 and heard that running the game as admin (right click the exe, compatibility tab, check run as admin box) fixed pb kicks. i set this to run as admin right from the beginning and have had no issues

FPS is a rough guess. Skipping chuggy screens give it away. It seemed to be fine at the spawn but the closer I got to action the more it felt like wading through syrup.

Ive got a core duo 6700 with a Nvidia 9800gtx and 4 gb of ram. Ill try the DX9 setting tonight and the 16 bit setting. But the 350 ping was what got me the most. I could see everyone else chugging along nicely but my ping never seemed to drop below 250. Damn frustrating. Want to get into this asap!!!
