When the 1p server was announced, I loved the idea, because all of you 3p dragnoobs ruin the game

But it's mostly empty now, so I have to play with you .

Now I've had an idea, mostly because I hate archers, to make it a 1P/3P server, no archers. The idea has gathered some support on the 3p server from what I can tell, since I'm not the only one with that particular hatred. Let's face it, archers have nothing to do in this game.

I know it's a medieval game, and I know archers were part of conflicts at that time, but I'm not really playing for historical accuracy here, I'm here for the fun, and archers ruin other players' fun.

The main purpose of the game is basically to pit one's skills against others, and that's mostly what happens. Sure you get backstabbed, ganked upon, or TKed, but in most if not all cases, your own skill matters in how many times you're gonna die, as well as your ennemy's. Then the archer comes in, and then it's only his skill that matters, yours is now irrelevant. You're running with half life looking for an ennemy, and an instant later it's lights out. This is not fun, it's just frustrating.

So yeah, limited archers is fine, but 4 archers are still 4 too many IMO.

Well that is something to put into consideration. 1P, no archers perhaps? Now that would be a true carnage.

Anyway I would stick to 1P, I like to jump in every now and then because the gameplay seems so different, more let's say 'realistic'.

Well I've always said I'm happy to set the Carnage server to whatever remains popular. The limited archer server has essentially become our 'main' server so shouldn't need changing.

While any permanent changes to the 'carnage' server would need majority voting pat the clan, in the meantime if the server is empty am happy for any clan members with access to set it to whichever mode they feel will make the server popular and utilised.

Moreso at the moment as I've just finished moving the old 95 server into the 77 datacentre, so could really do with filling the server to check on performance.

In the meantime, I've set it as a mirror of 'limited archer' with the exception of "No Archers" - hence the name SneakyMonkeys.com *NO ARCHERS* TO EU UK

If we can't get the server filled in the next day or so, I'll make an exact copy of the limited archer server then temporarily bring this down so that we can get a chance to test performance (once the server fills, will bring back the limited archer server)

1P and no archers would be nice! Another way to fill up the servers could be to make a 3P only and a 1P only...

Anyhoo.. . like I said I don't mind whichever setup you guys go for.. my only caveats are:

keep the server name sensible e.g. sneakymonkeys.com #game mode# e.g. no archers, limited archers, 1p only, 3p only etc.
don't change the server configs if there's players on the server!

Making one server 3p only and the other 1st only, is a terrible idea! It would screw waaay too much with the groovy feel of the main server. It's great the way it is, if it aint broke dont fix it and all that jazz. Im all for making the other one 1p only and no archers, sure why not it gives it a certain dynamic thats different than the other.

Also, yea I fucking hate archers. I never played on the old server with no archer class limitations. It was simply unplayable, you just got staggered constantly and was just so insanely stressfull. But I dont mind the 4 archer limit, some archers are fun to have, it mixes it up a little, keeps you on your toes without constantly having to worry about them. It sucks when you die to them but eh.. And bashing 3 archers heads in from behind is simply pure satisfaction

Why not change the 1st person server to LTS or another game mode with both 3rd and 1st? It is always fun to play with 50 players in any game mode, not just TO. Just mirror the limited archers server but change the game modes around a bit, TO only becomes a bit boring after a while.

If you are so annoyed/afraid of archers, then why don't just equip yourself with shield or smoke pots

This, also the reason to why im never in the 1p server (when it's finally full) is because there's no regulars/people on my friendlist that plays there. So then I just play on the limited archers one. But since im a very competitive player, I thoroughly hate 3p players and it's sad to see that 80% of you are one of them.

But that is the point! Let them have their "who manages to abuse/glitch out the game mechanic the best mode" to their own or join into fair play like all the others
