Just thought I'd make a topic for people to post their opinions with the server being chagned to 64 slots (for testing) - the clan will have a vote (clan members only) on which setting to keep, but thought it might be useful for non clan members and regulars to post their opinions.
After a few games last night... my first impression is that if you thought the nadespam was bad with 32, you don't want to try 64

not only nade spam. but it seems that when it fills up it attracts n00bs(good for point scoring)but annoying, also hacks and b'rapers

all though i got 3 golds last night and a few silvers/bronzes - i didnt really enjoy myself tbqfh
easy kills, but also easy deaths by the most skill-less means ever - extra nade spam, and a sea of those goddamnd gay claymores
the majority of my deaths were teamkills, by either of the above - without geting revved :@
still, im hoping it was just a one off - and i can see if you play with people you know and stick closely together you could rack up some major pointage =]

yeah, my first round I ended up with more kills than deaths. A little later in the evening I joined a decent squad and got gold - with the sheer increase of players, kills come more quickly and so do deaths - which perhaps adds more bearing on squads (and by squads I means medics)
Its been a long time since I've players 64 players - the dynamics of it seem quite different. Nadespam etc.,
Was quite surprised in the very different players that it attracted.

We have just raised ours from 52 to 64 -
http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/8.9.11.153:16567/ Although it maxes out at 58 I think (reserve slots).
Its on trial at the minute and we are gathering customers thoughts. The general consensus so far indicates more lag!
TBH, I haven't noticed too much difference in gameplay, maybe a bit more intense at times with not as much respite.
I've played 64 player Karkand before (IMA I think) and it was a bit too much for me. Die then die again and again and....(nothing knew there I suppose)!

just a thought hows bout we make it a 40 player. as still thats peeps but cant see it being much diff. also another suggestion, if the vehicles server doesnt work out. could we have an i/o rotating. So will go through like karkand, mashtuur, sharqi .... as it will make a change and give good practice for matches

i agree i think 64 player servers attract noobs and stats padders plus i seem to get a little laggy

64 slots are a kind of shit! New rules from foxx (+kick/ban) and a fucking lag server since the change to 64 slots...

Going slightly off-topic to reply to Tousty:
The rules regarding manual switching of players have been there since August 2007. We do switch players to either balance the game (if the numbers are equal, but one team is much better than the other) or if requested to put clan members on the same team (Providing the game is still balanced)
Usually switching for balance occurs when there are less players on the server, as a couple of good players stacked on one team has a greater impact.(unbalanced games tend to kill the servers, as members of the losing team often leave)
The game were you were kicked was unbalanced, so Foxx asked someone to switch; Nobody did, so she made a manual switch herself.
Trying to switch yourself back repeatedly when the teams are still uneven is basically interfering with an admin trying to keep the server fair and balanced.
The alternative would be just to prevent players from switching themselves - which is not something that I'd particularily want as most players don't try to abuse this facility.
Moreso I found the comments directed at foxx both in game and now in the forum irksome e.g. the 'foxx making up her own rules' comment - as I can't see any reason for this false comment unless you are actually trying to provoke?

No but i wont come back to the server if you stay a 64 slots server! Since this change the server lags a lot! And that make me angry

strange - although I did badly due to the amount of nade spam I didn't notice any differnce in lag.
As for the server being 64/32 this, as with everything else, will be down to a clan members vote.

haha. in someways i feel the Karkand is too small for 64. If there were multiple USMC spawnpoints across the map it may be diff

yes, i think is too small too... 64 slots servers they play a lot of supporters a lot of nadespamming and spanwcamping are the results.... i think teamplaying on 64 is not possible.... i vote for 32/32 server

but my whote doesn't count...
cheers rule*
ps i know magik5 hates nadespammer

my pc can't really handle 64 slots too well, but I still enjoyed it
having more than 32 players is fun - I guess somewhere in the 40s for me

one downside - needs more players on to get the game going

To start a server: up to 32 slots requires 6 players, anything over requires 8
However since the 64 slots have not been astoundingly popular I've changed the server to 40 slots - see if we can get a balance between large-scale battles and insta-death from a tsunami of nooby grenades

tbh i dont mind playing small map every now and again, perhaps we could test the vehicles server out on small karkand @ 24 players?

lawpf has suggested putting it on an IO rotation - am happy ot use it for whatever providing its not being kicked off - be it spec force/vanilla vehicles or vanilla rotation.
The profiles can be switched over in server.sneakymonkeys.com (for those of you that have access) - I'll need to recreate some of the updated profiles though. Will try to get that done tomorrow

Tousty, they are not "new rules" i already explained why, if your too stupid to understand im not wasting my time saying it again.
as for the other kicks that was more for being an asshole, not really to do with rulebreaking.
