I blame both quality of the tools, my lack of knowledge of using the tools and the actual technical build of the game itself.
I much prefer BF2 enviroment maps - where you essentially plonk a textured topology down and call it ground, with hills/valeys etc., and all then just build your buildings/walls/trees on this. L4D doesn't work like this - its essentially a bunch of boxed rooms connected together. The first time I built a map it crashed because of lack of memory. And it's not just me: if you add walkable surfaces to places that should have them for hunters e.g. deathtoll 4, it runs out of memory gah it's almost like the old days of DEU on doom ![]() -------------------- ![]() |
